John Caboth Final Rites on Monday
John Henry Caboth, 76, retired Armstrong farmer died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday [May 9, 1968] evening at Holy Family Hospital of a heart attack.Mr. Caboth was born Nov. 18, 1891 at Galva [per WWI draft record, Alta] to Mr. and Mrs. Christ Caboth.
He was educated in the Hanover Community Schools.
Mr. Caboth was married Dec. 15, 1915 to Edna Bloyer at Sac City. The couple farmed near Schaller and Storm Lake until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Armstrong.
In 1953 Mr. Caboth retired to Armstrong.
Mrs. Caboth died in January of this year.
Mr. Caboth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Armstrong.
He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Calvin (Mildred) Porter of Armstrong; Mrs. Russell (Evelyn) Tordoff, Lake Mills; Mrs. Earl (Marjorie) Randel of Weldon, and Mrs. John (Bonnie) Rike of Titonka.
Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Caboth was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, one brother and one sister.
Family services will be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Chapel at Armstrong.
Public services will be held at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Armstrong, Rev. Ellis Gasser will officiate.
Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today until noon Monday when the casket will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 11, 1968)
