Bussa Rites Tomorrow
Armstrong – Funeral services will be held here tomorrow for Herman A. [Adolph] Bussa, 87, who died Sunday [July 8, 1962] morning at the home of his son Fred in Armstrong. Death has been attributed to complications of old age. He had been in poor health for the past six months.

Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m. and public services at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Rowe to officiate. Burial is to be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Frank Colgrove, Calvin Porter, Al Loewenberg, Calvin Jensen, Charles McKean and Ray McKean.

Herman A. Bussa was born Jan. 22, 1875, [per 1885 Iowa census, Webster county] the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bussa of Fort Dodge. He received his education in Manson schools and was married Oct. 4, 1899 to Lena Carsten at Manson. She died in 1933.

They farmed at Monson [Manson] until 1927 and then moved to Armstrong where Mr. Bussa began farming with his son Fred.

Survivors include a son Fred of Armstrong and a daughter, Helen Johnson of Ringsted. A brother Fred of Clear Lake and a sister, Mrs. Ida Bollock, Cheyenne, Wyo., three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.

Friends may call at the Slaba Funeral Home until time of services tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 9, 1962)
