James Bunt of Armstrong Dies at 90
James Elliott Bunt, 90, of Armstrong died Saturday [October 1, 1955] at Holy Family hospital at 12:15 p.m. Mr. Bunt had been in failing health for the past year.

Born Nov. 10, 1864, in Allamakee county, Mr. Bunt moved to Emmet county in 1865 with his family and lived here in Estherville at Old Ft. Defiance to begin with, later moving to a farm near Seneca where he attended school.

In 1891 James Bunt married Minnie M. McNally and they made their home on the farm one mile south of Armstrong for 10 years prior to moving to Armstrong.

Survivors include three of his six children. Mrs. L.R. Chapman of Estherville, Mrs. William Jaskulke of Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. John Blum of Armstrong; one brother, Howard, of Bellflower, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Palmer of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Dora Lytle of St. Paul, Minn. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bunt preceded him in death as did three of his children. Jay, May and Mrs. Vivian Beck of Swea City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the L.R. Chapman home, 915 11th Avenue north, the Rev. James, H. Duhigg officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 3, 1955)
