Mrs. Ellen Brooks Lee passed away at the hospital in Albert Lea, Minn., Sunday morning at 1 o’clock. Her death came as a great shock to her friends here as she had been ill but a short time. Mrs. Lee or Ellen Brooks, as she was known to her many friends who had loved her since childhood, was born in December 1902 on a farm near Armstrong. She attended our public school and high school and lived the greater part of her life here. Last October she moved with her parents to Albert Lea, where she made her home until her death.

She is survived by her little daughter Margaret, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks, and two brothers, Frank and Thomas. Funeral services was held Tuesday afternoon from the Presbyterian church. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 20, 1925)
