Mrs. Roy (Elizabeth) "Betty" McKean, 56, Terril, died at 1:30 a.m. April 6, [1971] at Holy Family Hospital [Estherville].

She was born Dec. 17, 1914, at Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. Levi Minks. She attended Estherville Schools and Estherville High School. She was married to Richard Schrock and to Clarence Hanson, both of whom preceded her in death.

[Betty Minks married Clarence John Hanson on Nov. 18, 1955, in Jackson, MN. Clarence passed away on June 11, 1963.] Mrs. McKean was married March 1, 1965, to Roy McKean at Watertown, S.D. She spent most of her life at Estherville. She lived for a few years at Wallingford. She operated the People's Annex Café for a number of years. She was employed at the Estherville Shoe Store for several years, and moved to Terril in 1966.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Legion Auxiliary, and was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, Terril; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Wilson, River Falls, Wis., and one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her first two husbands and her parents.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Pannkuk Sr. officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery [Estherville]. Estherville Daily News, April 1971.
