Lilly Grace, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fields, of Iowa Lake, and beloved wife of Fred W. Albee, died at her parents home Wednesday, June 19, 1901. Born in Greene county, Indiana, Jan. 22, 1877, she removed with her parents to Audubon county, Iowa, in 1886, and to Emmet county in 1898. June 27, 1897, she married Fred W. Albee. They kept house at Gridley for a time but of late have lived with her parents.
Having experienced religion in 1895 she united with the Presbyterian church. Especially of late her fellowship with her Savior has been evident and exemplary.
The supreme comfort of her parents is “We know that she is saved.” She leaves a devoted husband, a brother and her parents to all of whom she was most tenderly attached.
On Thursday, June 20th, appropriate services were held from the home, conducted by Rev. R.A. Harwood of Dolliver. Touching tributes of respect and sympathy evidenced the sorrow felt by all. Experiences of heart breaking anguish were chastened and glorified by the assured triumphs of Christian faith and resignation.
The burial in the cemetery near Armstrong, whither the remains were accompanied by a large procession and the precious form committed to the earth in certain anticipation of joyous reunion in a land of unclouded day. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, July 3, 1901)
