Knute Hanson, aged 46 of Estherville died suddenly in the night Friday [March 13, 1942] from a heart attack.
He was a long time resident of Emmet county and spent most of his years in Dolliver and this vicinity. He was assistant cashier in the bank at Dolliver until it closed, and then he came to Estherville where he was employed.
He is survived by his wife who is librarian in the Estherville school; an only daughter, Muriel who is attending college at Springfield, Missouri; and Eugene, who is in California. Both of the children arrived home for the funeral. He is also survived by four sisters and four brothers.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the Mahlum and Anderson funeral parlors and at 2:00 at the Palestine church near Dolliver. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, March 17, 1942)
