Prominent Emmet County Farmer Succumbs After Two Years Suffering From Tuberculosis

Henry L. Sunde, on of Emmet county’s most highly respected farmers died at his home twelve miles north of Estherville in Ellsworth township, Tuesday, May 27th, after a lingering illness of nearly two years of tuberculosis. The funeral was held from the home Decoration day, Rev. Severson of Gruver having charge of the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Dolliver cemetery.The deceased was forty-six years of age at the time of his death and had been a resident of this county for about twenty years. He was a native of Norway and came to this country when a young man, accompanied by his parents. He was an industrious and hard working man and by his good business judgment had succeeded in accumulating his just share of the comforts of life. He was a kind and loving father, a devoted husband and a generous neighbor always ready and willing to extend a favor to those whom thought deserving. He leaves behind a wife and eight children a large concourse of friends to mourn his death. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 4, 1913)
