Dolliver – Services for Silas L. [Lewis] Knutson, 86, rural Dolliver, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Palestine Lutheran Church, Dolliver, with the Rev. Phillip Olson officiating. Interment will be in Palestine Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Knutson died Saturday [May 30, 1981] at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 11 a.m. Tuesday and at the church prior to services.

The son of Peter and Katherine Knutson, he was born April 23, 1895, in Emmet County’s Lincoln Township. He received his education in rural schools and was married to Amanda Herum [Herem] on Sept. 12, 1924, at Dolliver.

He farmed in Lincoln Township his entire life and was a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church.

Mr. Knutson is survived by one son, Gaylord Knutson, Dolliver; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and five brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 1, 1981)
