Spirit Lake – Services for Virgil William Zwiefel, 85, were held Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Walter Hamer officiating. Interment was in Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Dolliver. He died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.He was born August 12, 1908 at Fenton, the son of Jacob and Anna (Voigt) Zwiefel and attended school at Fenton, graduating from high school in 1928. He was united in marriage with Leona Schmidt on Feb. 26, 1930 at Lotts Creek. He farmed in the Fenton and Dolliver areas; in later years laid carpet and did repair work in the Spirit Lake area. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his daughters: Mrs. Clair (Marcella) Moore and Mrs. Gene (Lois) Yackle, both of rural Dolliver; sons Wendell and Calvin Zwiefel; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mae Menz and Iris Householder of Fenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson; seven brothers and two sisters.
