Dolliver Youth is Missing in Acton
William Weber, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Weber of Dolliver, is missing in action in Vietnam, his parents were notified Sunday by an Army representative.

Private First Class Weber, who arrived in Vietnam about three weeks ago or an assignment with the 9th Infantry Division as a rifleman, was listed as missing on Aug. 22. He entered the armed forces in March.

William is a graduate of Lincoln Central High School and attended Estherville Junior College.

He has two brothers and a sister: John, 16; Mark, one week; and Diane, 10. Grandparents are Mrs. William Oswald of Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Hazel Weber of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Also living at Dolliver are two brothers [Uncles] and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Weber and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd [George] Weber.

His parents were told they would be notified of any further word as to their son’s whereabouts when the information becomes available. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 26, 1968)

Dolliver Youth is Killed in Action
Pfc. William Weber, 19, of Dolliver, who entered the armed forces only last March, has been killed in action in Vietnam, his parents were notified Tuesday afternoon.

Weber is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Weber of Dolliver.

The parents were informed Sunday by 2nd Lt. Wayne France, Humboldt, that their son was missing in action as of Aug. 22.

His mother said her son was on duty with the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta when he was killed, but the family is awaiting a letter from the government detailing the mishap.

No funeral services will be scheduled until the body is sent home. The Webers said the body is expected to arrive this week or early next week.

William, a graduate of Lincoln Central High School and had attended Estherville Junior College.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, John, 16; Mark, one week; a sister, Diane, 10; grandparents, Mrs. William Oswald of Fairmont, Minn, and Mrs. Hazel Weber of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville. Two uncles and their wives who live at Dolliver are Mr. and Mrs. Galen Weber and Mr. and Mrs. George Weber.
