Merl [Merland] Redhead of Dolliver Dies at 54
Merl H. Redhead, 54, of Dolliver died at 1:10 a.m. yesterday at a Moline, Ill. hospital of cancer of the liver.Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Dolliver Methodist Church, the Rev. Roger Tappmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Dolliver Cemetery. The Sternorg-Reese Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Redhead was born June 24, 1906 in Dolliver. His parents were Ben and Daisy Redhead. He received his education in the Dolliver schools. Mr. Redhead was married to Bonnie Watrous on March 4, 1934 in Spirit Lake. He lived at Dolliver 50 years and farmed there most of his life. He has been residing in Moline with his mother for the past four years.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving Mr. Redhead’s death are his mother, Mrs. Daisy Redhead of Moline, Ill.; his father, Ben of Armstrong; three daughters, Mrs. Donovan Parker, Northfield, Minn.; Mrs. Leon Nelson, Armstrong; Miss Barbara Redhead, Rochester; two sisters, Mrs. John Mindock, Milan, Ill.; Mrs. Raymond Nordstrom, Joliet, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
