Dolliver – Services for Eilert Rasmussen, 92, Dolliver, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dolliver Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Crissis officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Township Cemetery, Dolliver. He died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Thursday.

He was born March 4, 1892 at Haugesund, Norway, the son of Lauriz and Bertina Rasmussen. He received his education in Norway. He grew up in Stavanger, Norway and emigrated to Sheridan, Ill. in May 1909. On Nov. 13, 1913, he was united in marriage with Gurine Aurebeck at Sheridan, Ill. The Rasmussens came to Emmet County in 1920 and purchased a farm near Dolliver and moved there in March of 1942. She died March 31, 1978 and he continued to live on the farm until 1980 when he became a resident at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. He was a member of the Dolliver Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Gertrude) Woods, Estherville; Mrs. E.F. (Helen) Ostermeier, Weyauwega, Wis. and Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Price, Newport, Ore.; two sons: Arnold Rasmussen, Sioux City and Mervin Rasmussen, Dolliver, 1- grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; 2 brothers-in-law, Gust Johnson, Sandwich, Ill. and Knut Aurebeck, Kristiansand, Norway and a sister-in-law, Anna Aurebeck, Heraas, Norway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter; two brothers; three sisters and one foster sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1984)
