Dolliver Boy of 9 Dies of Diphtheria
Russell Dale Knutson, 9, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Knutson of Dolliver died Jan. 2 at the Knutson home of Diptheria. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. O.P. Mueder of Dolliver at the farm home and burial was made in the Dolliver cemetery. The services were held outdoors because of the quarantine.

Russell Dale Knutson was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Emmet county. At the time of his death he was in the third grade in the Maple Hill consolidated school, and showed unusual talent in art work, though his school attendance was frequently interrupted by sickness.

He was a lover of pets and a short time before Christmas received a serious disappointment when his pony was injured and had to be killed. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, January 11, 1928)
