Dolliver – Services for George [George Heiko] Holl, 76, Dolliver, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dolliver United Methodist Church with Dr. Merrill Summerbell officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Township Cemetery, Dolliver.Mr. Holl died Monday [October 29, 1979] at the Park Clinic in Buffalo Center.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 11:30 a.m. Thursday and at the church prior to services.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holl, he was born April 1, 1904, in Grundy County. He received his education in Grundy Center and rural Maple Hill schools and was married to Rachel Ayers on Nov. 28, 1929, near Maple Hill.
The couple farmed north of Gruver until 1937 and then moved to their present farm northwest of Dolliver. He farmed his entire life.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Emmet County Farm Bureau.
Mr. Holl is survived by his wife, Rachel, Dolliver; two sons, Ellis Holl, Kensington, Minn., and Dale Holl, Dolliver; two daughters, Mrs. George (Fern) Handeland, Ringsted, and Mrs. Donald (Hazel) Haarup, Brainerd, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three brothers, Lee Holl, Dolliver, Herman Holl, Estherville, and Wayne Holl, Hoffman, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 31, 1979)
