Victim of Crash Dies in Rochester
Chris Feddersen, 73, of Swea City, died Thursday [October 17, 1968] at 4 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn., as a result of injuries suffered in an auto accident near Swea City Oct. 7. He was taken to Rochester Oct. 9.

He was born June 17, 1895, on a farm near Green Island, in Jackson County, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Valquard Feddersen, and moved as a child, with his parents to Goose Lake, Iowa. He grew to manhood in that area and came to Emmet County in 1923.

Mr. Feddersen was married June 22, 1938, at Spencer, to Marjorie Williams. In 1925, Mr. and Mrs. Feddersen bought a farm near Armstrong and lived there for 36 years. In 1961, they moved to a farm northwest of Swea City, their present home.

Mr. Feddersen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Swea City.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Kathy) Johnson of Fairmont; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Hagge of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Mrs. Bertha Otten and Mrs. Anna Ketelsen, both of Clinton.

Funeral services will be Monday at the United Methodist Church in Swea City, a family service at 1:30 p.m. preceding the 2 p.m. church service. Rev. W.M. Bloodworth will officiate.

Burial will be in the cemetery near Dolliver.

Pallbearers will be six nephews: Henry, Louis, Ernest and John Feddersen and Arnold and Carl Clausen.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Swea city after 7 p.m. Saturday until time Monday noon when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 18, 1968)
