Dolliver – Services for Ray Colberg, 92, of Dolliver will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Marshall Monthei officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Colberg died Saturday, November 25, 1989 at his home in Dolliver.

Ray Colberg was born October 21, 1897 to Gust and Anna (Nelson) Colberg at DeKalb, Illinois. As a youngster he attended rural schools near Dows, Iowa. On February 9, 1922 he married Viola Kline at Iowa Falls where the couple lived until moving to Algona in 1936 where he worked as a painter and managed a bowling alley. In 1978 Mr. Colberg retired and the couple moved to Dolliver.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Doris) Leininger of Dolliver, a niece raised by the Colbergs, Mrs. Ray Dean (Donna) Robinson of Anchorage, Alaska; fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife Viola who died in 1978; one son, Glen; one daughter, Neva Norem; his parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1989)
