Henry Clausen of Dolliver Dies at 84
Henry Clausen, 84, of Dolliver died yesterday at the Origer Rest Home in Estherville. He has been ailing since Feb. 24 of infirmities of old age.

Born in Germany on Jan. 6, 1875, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Clausen, Mr. Clause [Clausen] came to the U.S. at the age of 11 after attending school in Europe. In 1903 he was married to Christina Fedderson at Clinton, Iowa. She died in 1920.

Mr. Clausen, a farmer in the Dolliver area for several years, retired in 1925. He had six children, all of whom live in the Midwest. Marie Clausen of Armstrong, Arnold Clausen of Ringsted, Mrs. Alfred (Hulda) Kramensmeir of Swea City, Mrs. Stanley (Freda) Jackson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Vernon Lannig of Rhodes.

One brother, Otto Clausen, lives in Dolliver. Mr. Clausen has 13 grandchildren.

Services have been planned for the Thomas Funeral Chapel in Ringsted at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Stanley Hansen of St. Paul’s Lutheran officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 23, 1959)
