Dolliver – Funeral services for Charles Clabaugh, 64, of Dolliver, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville, with the Rev. Paul Wiegman officiating.

Burial will be at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver. Military graveside services will be provided by American Legion Post 91 of Estherville and VFW Post 3388 of Estherville.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Monday (today) at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville. Clabaugh died Friday [July 27, 1990] at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis, MInn.

Charles Clabaugh was born August 1, 1925 in Coon Rapids, Iowa, the son of Charles H. and Susie (Viola) [Susie Viola Claude] Clabaugh. He received his education in Maple Hill, graduating from Maple Hill High School in 1942.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa and Italy. Following the war he married Sylvia Eckholm in January, 1945.

He was employed in the Estherville, Dolliver and Fairmont, Minn. area as an auto mechanic for several auto dealerships. He also drove truck for many years. He retired in 1976.

He is survived by two sons, Victor of Parnell, Iowa and Marlin of Gilbertville, Iowa; four brothers, Alton of Dolliver, Alvin of Dolliver, Donald of Estherville, Clifford of Ontario, Calif.; three sisters, Viola Clabaugh of Estherville, Neomia Lynn of Estherville and Jeanette Severson of Huntington and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandson and his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1990)
