Dorrance W. Brown, 59, Davenport, died Friday [July 16, 1971] at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Oct. 2, 1911, at Pawtucket, R.I., and was married Aug. 19, 1954 to Irene Jessen at Dolliver. He was a postal employe in the Davenport Post Office, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Davenport and a veteran of WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, David E. Brown, a student at the University of Iowa at Iowa City; one brother, Paul Brown; and one sister, Miriam Brown, Pawtucket, R.I.

Funeral services will be a 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Reese-Henry Funeral; Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Don Glazier officiating.

Burial will be in the Dolliver cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Jessen, Dean Pelz, Chris Jesperson, Einer Hansen, Harry Jesperson and Gotchel Anderson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 19, 1971)
