Funeral of John Barfoot Yesterday
Funeral services for John Barfoot, pioneer Emmet County resident, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Kennedy in Nebraska, were held in the Dolliver Community church Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. C.L. Day in charge. Burial was in Lincoln Township cemetery near Dolliver. Mr. Barfoot was 84 years old and lived in Dolliver until the death of Mrs. Barfoot thee years ago. His death resulted from a stroke suffered several months ago. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 25, 1940)

Burial Held at Dolliver For A Former Resident
Word came Monday evening of the death of John Barfoot, resident of Dolliver vicinity for many years. Since the death of Mrs. Barfoot three years ago the deceased has been making his home at Park Rapids, Minn., with his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Harding and in Nebraska with another daughter Mrs. Frank Kennedy where he passed away. Several months ago he suffered a stroke and was confined to his bed until his death. Funeral services were held at Dolliver, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Community church where the Barfoots attended regularly for many years.
