Niels Henry Balmer Services Wednesday
Estherville – Niels Henry Balmer, 67, Estherville, passed away Monday [December 16, 1974] morning at Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating and burial in the Dolliver cemetery.

Mr. Balmer was born March 28, 1907 at Dolliver to Martin and Mary Nelson [Nielsen] Balmer and was educated in Emmet County schools.

He was married to Ellen Junette Anfinson on Sept. 29, 1934 in Wallingford. They farmed near Dolliver, and he was employed for 11 years at a packing company in Estherville before becoming administrator of the Balmer Nursing Home, Estherville, for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Martin E., stationed with the U.S. Army in Virginia, and Dale R., Bemidji; one daughter, Beverly Crum, Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; one brother, George, Welcome, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Evans, Estherville, Mrs. Elmer Jorgensen, Swea City, and Mrs. Ray Senf, Ceylon, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
