Mrs. Ben Lande Dies Following Brief Illness
Mrs. Ben Lande [Eliza H. Johnson], 69, Estherville, died Wednesday [January 17, 1945] morning at 10:20 a.m. at her home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Lande, a resident of Estherville for the past 40 years, was born in Bergen, Norway, Nov. 28, 1875, and came to the United States in August, 1905.

She was married to Ben Lande Feb. 23, 1907. Mrs. Lande is a member of the Estherville Lutheran church.

She is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Oscar Peterson of Minneapolis, and three brothers and one sister living in Bergen, Norway.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 at the Ben Lande home and at 2 p.m. from the Estherville Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 18, 1945/ Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 18, 1945))
