Mrs. Jacobson [Jakobson] In Minneapolis
Remains Were Brought Here Sunday Morning and the Funeral Was Held Yesterday from the Norwegian Lutheran Church
A telegram received here Saturday morning announced the death in Minneapolis of Mrs. Joseph Jacobson on the Friday [May 19, 1905] evening previous. On Monday, a week ago, accompanied by her husband and her sister, Mrs. O. Anderson and the latter’s husband, they went to Minneapolis to consult with a physician in her case as to the necessity of a surgical operation but which owing to her condition, was not performed. The remains arrived in Estherville Sunday morning. The funeral was held Tuesday from the Norwegian Lutheran church and the burial was made in the cemetery a short distance north of the city.

Mrs. Jacobson, whose maiden name was Paulson, was a native of Norway and for the last forty years was a resident of the United States. For a long time Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson made their home in Hills, Minn., and were engaged in farming. About eight years ago they sold their farm and moved to Estherville. Mrs. Jacobson was a very worthy woman and had been ailing for the past fifteen years. Among the relatives attending the funeral are Mrs. Peterson of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Mrs. Johnson of Hills, sisters of the deceased. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 24, 1905)
