Hogan Hoganson a Pioneer Resident [Passes] Away This Week
Hogan Hoganson an old time resident of this county passed away at Cherokee last week [January 29, 1917] from hardening of the arteries. The remains were shipped to this city for burial and were laid to rest in the Kettleson [Norwegien] cemetery on Monday last. The deceased was seventy-two years of age and has been a resident of Emmet county for about thirty years. The Rev. J.J. Aker of the Lutheran church of this city officiated at the last service. Henry Hoganson was called to Cherokee last week by the sudden death of his father. After returning to Estherville had to walk to his home near Ryan lake as the roads were impassable. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 7, 1917)
