Passed Away Sunday Following Appendicitis Operation.
LIVED IN COUNTY SINCE 1885
Funeral Service Held Today--Burial Will Be Made in Lutheran Cemetery
Mrs. Otis Berhow died Sunday after a severe siege of illness. Mrs. Berhow was operated upon recently for appendicitis and had come through the effects of the operation in excellent condition. The immediate cause of her death was heart failure.

The funeral will be held this afternoon in the Norwegian Lutheran church and burial made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Miss Anna Sophia Johnson, daughter of Henry Johnson was born in Polk county February 15, 1868. Later the Johnson family moved to Emmet county where they since resided. On October 15th, 1885 she was united in marriage to Otis Berhow. No children were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. [sic] have resided in Emmet county practically all the entire time since their marriage.

The deceased was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church, a devout christian lady, and a most dutiful and loving daughter and wife. She has a host of warm friends who grieve with the mourning husband and father and other relatives. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, Iowa, September 28, 1910)

Mrs. Otis Berhow Dead
Mrs. Otis Berhow died very suddenly at nine o’clock Sunday morning at the City Hospital. She had undergone an operation a week previous and was thought to be getting along all right until just a few moments before she died. The remains were at once removed to the home on south Seventh street. Deceased was forty-two years of age at the time of her death and had resided in Estherville for thirty years. She was the oldest daughter of Henry Johnson, formerly of Ellsworth township, but now employed in the state house at Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Norwegian Lutheran church and the remains interred in the cemetery north of town. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, September 28, 1910)
