Widow of Jas. Walrath
Mrs. Susan [Lande] Walrath, 57, widow of James Walrath for many years and until his retirement call boy at the Rock Island, died at the state hospital at Woodward yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Mr. Walrath died last February.

The body will be brought to Estherville and funeral services will be held at the Sternborg funeral chapel and at the Estherville Lutheran church Friday afternoon. The Rev. L.A. Mathre will officiate.

Ms. Walrath was born in Polk county but came to Emmet county when a child and has lived here practically all her life.

She is survived by three children, one sister, Mrs. A.W. Olson, and four brothers, Ben Lande, Lou Lande and Martin Lande of Estherville and Ole Lande of Ankeny. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1935)

Mrs. Walrath Passes Away
Death Result of Long Illness
Mrs. Susan Walrath, 56, died at 4 p.m. yesterday in Woodward after a long illness. Her health had been failing for the past year and a half.

She is survived by one son, Henry, and one daughter, Miss Ida Walrath, [also 2nd daughter, Marjorie Evelyn] one sister, Mrs. W.A. Olson of Estherville, and four brothers, Lewis, Ben and Martin Lande of Estherville and Ole Lande of Ankney.

Funeral services have been tentatively set for Friday in the Estherville Lutheran church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1935)

Walrath Rites Are Tomorrow
Service at 2:30 In Lutheran Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Walrath, 56, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Sternborg funeral chapel and at 2:30 in the Estherville Lutheran church with the Rev. L.A. Mathre in charge.

Mrs. Walrath died at 4 p.m. Monday in Woodward after a long illness.

She is survived by one son, Henry, and one daughter, Miss Ida Walrath, four brothers, Lewis, Ben and Martin Lande of Estherville, and Ole Lande of Ankney, and one sister, Mrs. W.A. Olson of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 10, 1935)
