Services are Saturday for Emlet Twito
Funeral services for Emlet Twito, 79, who died Wednesday morning, May 17, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial will be at Estherville Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Twito was born Oct. 6, 1892, at Lake Mills, the son of John and Serena Twito, and received his education in the Lake Mills schools.

He was married Oct. 4, 1916, to Lillian Albertson at Lake Mills. After their marriage they farmed near Lake Mills and then operated a meat market at Scarville, Ia., before moving to Estherville in 1929 where he was employed by the Tobin Packing plant.

He was elected Emmet County sheriff in 1948 and served until 1954. He was then employed by Morrells until his retirement in 1957.

He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Parnell of Estherville, four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Carmen) Hansen, Hackensack, MInn.; Mrs. Gaylord (Virginia) Knutson, Dolliver, Mrs. Donald (Gloria) Alger, Spencer, and Mrs. David (LeAnn) Paulson, Wausau, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Archie Twito, Richfield, Minn., John Solmonson, Scarville, and Milford Solmonson, Leland; three sisters, Catheryn Gullixson, Minneapolis, Mrs. Evelyn Anderson, Forest City, and Mrs. Harry Palm, Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his wife in February, 1972, his parents, a stepfather, one brother and one sister.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville from 3 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 18, 1972)
