Fenton – Services for Lloyd S. Sunde, 78, of Fenton will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fenton with Pastor Steve Schulz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1992 at Palo Alto County Hospital, Emmetsburg.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Fenton from 4-9 p.m. Sunday.

He was born March 23, 1914 at Estherville, the son of Nels and Ingeborg (Tendal) Sunde and attended rural Emmet County School. ON Aug. 28, 1938 he married Edna Theesfield at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fenton. Following marriage the couple lived in the Armstrong, Ringsted, Fenton area. He farmed until 1965 when they moved into Fenton and owned the Fenton Produce until 1982. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edna, Fenton; daughters: Mrs. Rich (JoAnn) Devers, Littleton, Colo., Mrs. Jim (Nancy) Peterson, Prior Lake, Minn., Mrs. Larry (Linda) Geitzenauer, Fenton; sons: Jim of Cherokee and Roger of Minot, N.D.; eight grandchildren; three sisters: Lillian Sunde and Alice Mitchell, Estherville, and Nina Sill, Fairmont, Minn.; two brothers: Ray of Estherville and Merle of San Jose, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin grandsons. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1992)
