Heart Attack Fatal to Girl, 14
Leta Peterson, 14, of Estherville died last night after suffering a heart attack. She had a heart ailment for many years.

She and her mother, Mrs. Eleanor Peterson, went fishing together yesterday evening. While at the lake, Leta suffered a heart attack, screamed, and ran to the car. Mrs. Peterson took her home and called a physician. She did not recover from the attack, and died at about 11:30.

Leta was born July 21, 1933, in Lake township, Clay county. She attended schools in Ruthven until last year, when she entered seventh grade here.

She is survived by two brothers, Arvid of Graettinger and Harvey, of Estherville, her mother and her father, Ernest Peterson of Graettinger.

Burial service will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 in the Mahlum and Sandin chapel and at 2 in the Estherville Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 17, 1948)
