Lawrence Nelson Dies; Services Set Wednesday
Lawrence Norby Nelson, 74, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 1972, at his home of a heart attack. He has not been well since March.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Oscar E. Engebretson officiating. Interment will be in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 10, 1898, at Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Nelson. His education was received in Emmet County schools and he was married Jan. 22, 1931, to Elva Iverson at Wallingford Lutheran Church.

They lived throughout their married life in the area and Mr. Nelson was a long-time member of Estherville Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elva; one son, Lowell of Mankato; two grandchildren, Shelley and Steve Nelson; four sisters, Mrs. Tena Twito, Mrs. Archie Myhre, Mrs. Blanche Larson, all of Estherville, and Mrs. Harry Balmer, Armstrong; one brother, Helmer of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after 7 p.m. today (Monday) until noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 18, 1972)
