Douglas Mooney
Estherville – Services for Douglas William Mooney, 32, Estherville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Omodt officiating. Burial will be at the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. He died Sunday, Oct. 14, 1984 at his home. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday at the Henry & Olson Funeral Home, Estherville.

He was born April 29, 1952 in Henderson, Neb., the son of William and Lillian (Holtzen) Mooney. He lived in Nebraska and Kansas before moving to Estherville in 1967. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1970 and was enrolled in the liberal arts program at Iowa Lakes Community College for one year and studied vocational auto body repair. After schooling he was employed by the Chevrolet Garage. On June 29, 1974 he married Rhonda Renee Swanson at Estherville. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda, Estherville; his parents William and Lillian Mooney; one son, Philip; one daughter, Christina; grandmother, Helen Mooney, Goodland, Kan.; one brother, Warren Mooney, Sioux Center; four sisters, Mrs. Chuck (Hazel) Schaffer, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Jerry (Suzette) Petersen, Emmetsburg, Mrs. Chuck (Adrienne) Nehring, Olathe, Kan., Mrs. Mike (Marshiela) Theisen, Mason City.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 15, 1984)
