Estherville – Services for Mrs. Clifford (Beverly “Grouch”) Merrill, 56, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Kermit Rye officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

She was born Nov. 6, 1929 in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Thomas and Beatrice (Froland) Eide. She attended Estherville Schools. On Sept. 30, 1952 she was united in marriage with Clifford S. Merrill at Sioux Falls, S.D. She lived most of her life in Estherville and had been employed at P.G. Gray, Wadco, Peoples Café, Casa-Loma and the V.F.W. Club. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford, Estherville; parents, Tom and Bea Eide, Estherville; three sons: Russell Cody, Wilmington, Calif., Richard Cody, Sr. and Randol Cody, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Butcj (Roxann Merrill) Keeler, Estherville; six grandchildren; seven brothers: Wesley and Cecil Eide, Estherville; Lyle and Tom Eide, Jr., St. Paul; Jack Eide, Yalm, Wash., Floyd Eide, Tacoma, Wash. and Dale Eide, Scottsdale, Ariz.
