Irvin S. Larson Dies
Irvin S. [Sigfred] Larson, 72, died early Sunday [January 24, 1965] morning at Holy Family Hospital from the effects of complications following surgery.

He had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Reese Funeral Home, Rev. Christian Notsund officiating. Burial will be in Estherville Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today until time of the final rites.

Mr. Larson was born Oct. 28, 1892, in Emmet County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Larson. He lived for a time with his parents in Martin County, Minn., where he received part of his education.

He later attended Estherville Business College and Buena Vista College at Storm Lake.

He farmed in Emmet County for the rest of his life after graduation.

Survivors include two brothers, Milton and Levi of rural Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Gladys Lumsden of Iowa City.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 25, 1965)
