William Kinnard
Estherville – Services for William R. Kinnard, 80, of Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Kermit Rye and Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1994 at his home. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 5, 1914 in Estherville, the son of Thomas and Anna (Harstad) Kinnard and attended Estherville Schools. On April 27, 1940 he was united in marriage with Audine Sampson at Spencer. He was employed by Estherville Grocery House and later Ridley Dairy. In February of 1942 the couple purchased the Ridley Dairy and operated Kinnard’s Dairy and in 1948 opened Kinnard’s Dairy Bar. They sold the dairy business in 1970 to Wells’ Blue Bunny. Mrs. Kinnard died December 29, 1976 and he continued to operate the Dairy Bar until his death. He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughters: Mrs. L. Richard (Sandra) Sidles of Estherville; Mrs. Louis (Mary Ann) Juhl, Healy, Alaska and Connie Schmidt of Glendale, Ariz.; one son, William R. Kinnard II of Wasilla, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert Kinnard of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audine; two brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 12, 19940
