Estherville – Services for Edward George, 69, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Omodt officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1986 at his home.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home at 103 North 9th Street, from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born July 13, 1916 at Terril, the son of David and Della (Webb) George. He attended Estherville Schools. On Jan. 10, 1937 he was united in marriage with Marie Geitzenauer at Jackson, Minn. He was a lifetime resident of Emmet County and had worked at the Emmet Consolidated School and the Emmet County Courthouse and other various jobs. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his Marie, Estherville; two sons Virgil, Chicago, Ill. and Gary, Estherville; two daughters: Sandra Jean Merten, Spencer and Mrs. Wayne (Mardell Ann) Ayers, Estherville; 10 grandchildren; one brother Harry, Panora and a sister Mrs. Edith Hill, Anderson, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Merlin; two brothers, David and Lloyd; and one sister Janet. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 18, 1986)
