Worker Killed in Mishap
Obert Chesley, 44, of Estherville, was killed yesterday when a road machine ran off a gravel highway and overturned on him near Wesley in Kossuth county. Chesley was employed by Hagedorn Construction Co.

Obert Leroy Chesley was born May 19, 1921, in Dunnell, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Chesley. He received his education in Jackson county schools.

Aug. 5, 1944, he was married to Eve Jane Schulz in El Paso, Tex. They moved to this area six years ago and lived on a farm north of Superior.

He had been employed at V-C Chemical Co. and at the Superior Cooperative Elevator.

Mr. Chesley was a member of the VFW and the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald and Dale at home; two daughters, Mrs. David (Ann) Caswell of Spencer and Deane at home; three brothers, Orville of Jackson, Minn., Jim of Estherville and Alvin of Galesburg, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Blanch Simers of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ruby Pieper of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Nina Waterman of Jackson, Minn., and Mrs. Ivadell Jensen of Washington; one grandchild; and his parents.

Final rites are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Sunday until noon Monday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 25, 1966)
