Estherville – Memorial services for Selma M. Anderson, 82, of Estherville will be held at 2 pm. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. She died Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Selma was born on May 15, 1919 in Estherville, the daughter of Carl and Serena (Hanson) Heggen. She grew up in rural Dolliver and received her education in the Dolliver schools. She moved to Estherville in 1954. Shelma was united in marriage to Daniel W. Anderson on Nov. 27, 1961. She was a caregiver for family and friends for many years. Daniel passed away on March 29, 1984,

Selma was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and ELCW. She enjoyed needlework and making scrapbooks.

She is survived by her brother, Glenn Heggen and wife, Vi, of Denver, Colo.; sister Anna Mae Hoye and husband, Claire, of Maquoketa, two nieces and five nephews and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Nyles Heggen and one nephew. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 6, 2001)
