J.[James] E.[Elmer] Torrence, Minneapolis, Passes Away
Burial Services Will Be Held Here Tomorrow
Burial services for J.E. Torrence [Torrens] of Minneapolis will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the oak Hill cemetery at Estherville. Mr. Torrence, the husband of Estherville, died Wednesday evening at his home in Minneapolis after a long illness.

Funeral services were held today in Minneapolis and brief services will be held at the grave. The body is expected to arrive in Estherville tomorrow morning.

Mr. Torrence, a retired druggist, is survived by his widow and one son, John Klopp Torrence [Torrens], who is studying medicine at the University of Minnesota. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 13, 1943)

Husband of Former Local Woman Dies
James E. Torrens, retired Minneapolis druggist and husband of the former Miss Nancy Klopp, passed away at his home in Minneapolis. Mr. Torrens had been in failing health for a number of years.

He is survived by his widow and one son, John Klopp Torrens, a medical student at the University of Minnesota.

Funeral services were held in Minneapolis Saturday and the body brought to Estherville for interment in the Klopp family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. Brief rites were held at the grave by the Rev. Donald Haviland, rector of Grace Episcopal church. The remains were accompanied here by Mrs. Torrens and John, and a brother-in-law, John Brown of International Falls, Minn.
