Estherville – Memorial services for Jack Douglas Weaver, 34, Estherville, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Monday, Nov. 26, 1984 at Omaha, Neb.Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
He was born May 20, 1950 in Estherville, the son of Jack B. and Margaret (Burch) Weave. Doug graduated from Estherville High School in 1968 and on Oct. 19, 1969 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Egeland in Wallingford. He lived all his life in Estherville except during his stint in the service. From 1969 until 1973 he served in the United States navy. Following that he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad as an engineer for six years and worked for John Morrell and Company for three years. He graduated from ILCC with an LPN degree and was continuing his education for an RN degree. He was also working parttime at Forest ridge Community Youth Center. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn, Estherville; one son Eric, 13; one daughter Amber, five; his parents Jack and Margaret Weaver, Estherville; one brother, Greg, Spirit Lake; and one sister, Mrs. Roger (Betty) Sabin, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 28, 1984)
