Orris Sunde
Estherville – Services for Orris Roy Sunde, 73, Estherville, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Sunde died this morning (Friday, Aug. 27) in Methodist Hospital at Rochester, Minn.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 1:00 p.m. Sunday and at the church prior to services.

Sunde was born April 14, 1909 in Estherville, the son of Tom T. and Martha (Larson) Sunde. He received his education in the Estherville Schools and graduated in 1929. On Feb. 28, 1937 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hamilton in Estherville. She died in 1967. He was a self-employed cabinet maker his entire life.

Sunde served in the United States Navy SeaBees during World War Two and was located in the Aleutian Islands in the South Pacific.

He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Taylor Sunde, Estherville and Maurice Sunde, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Cora) Zaugg, Mrs. Rosella Moore and Mrs. William O. (Irene) Anderson all of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 27, 1982)
