Mary Ann Stannerson, born in Sogn, Norway, November 27, 1857 [per cemetery records 1856], came with her parents to the United States in infancy.

She was married to J.C. Snyder at Council Bluffs April 28, 1874. To this union was born four children, Oliver of Spirit Lake, John of this city, Alice Rasmusson and Lulu both of this city.

She united with the First Baptist church about six years ago. Poor health prevented her attendance at the services of her church, but she maintained her interest in its work to the last, and shortly before passing away asked her friends to read from the Bible, and expressed a hope of meeting her father and mother in heaven.

Mrs. Snyder was one of those retiring natures that find their greatest pleasure in life in the service of others, and her family, her church, the W.R.C. of which she was a member for several years, and her circle of acquaintances have sustained the loss of an inestimable friend. She passed quietly away at her home January 14, 1909.

Snyder, son and daughter, of Spirit Lake; Ellen Lunday, sister, of Kelly; Isabelle Olson, sister, of Goldfield; Hannah and Hazel Hanson, nieces of Armstrong; Clarence Hanson, nephew, of Armstrong; and Frank Stennerson, brother, of Dolliver.(Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 20, 1909)
