Rites Held Monday for Mrs. Ross
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Ross were held April 6 at 2:30 o’clock at First Methodist church with interment in Oakhill cemetery. Dr. H. Hughes Dill officiated. Mrs. Roy Danielson and Mrs. Harold Danielson sang “Above the Hills of Time” and “Beyond the Sunset,” with Mrs. M.H. Silcox at the organ. The pallbearers were John Stanerson, Byron Weir, George Franks, W.S. Clark, Gordon Yager and John Higgins.

Grace Harter Bass, daughter of David and Susan Bass, was born Feb. 13, 1881, in Boone county, Iowa, and passed away, April 2, 1953, at Holy Family hospital, in Estherville at the age of 72 years, one month and 10 days. She was married to Walter Cloud [Claude] Ross Nov. 26. 1902, in Boone county and continued to live there until 1912, when they came to their farm south of Estherville. To them were born two children, Belva W. Ross and Ivadell Ross.

She leaves surviving her the two children, one grandson, Rodney Fay Ross; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Beckett, Mrs. Laura Ross and Mrs. Charles (Maude) Stuntz, Her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ross was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 10, 1953)
