Estherville – Neil Mason Ridley, 27, Jackson, Minn., and formerly of Estherville, was fatally injured Thursday morning as the result of an auto accident 2 ˝ miles east of Jackson on Interstate 90.

Mr. Ridley’s body will be cremated with graveside services to be set at a later date.

Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements.

The son of William and Myrtle M. Ridley, he was born Nov. 12, 1953, at Estherville, graduated from Estherville High School in 1971, from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1973, and was attending the Jackson area Vocational Institute at the time of his death.

He was married to Lesa Najt on Sept. 3, 1977, at Estherville and had lived in Estherville all of his life until moving to Jackson two years ago. He was the founder of the Misty River Band, which played engagements throughout the area, and a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ridley is survived by his wife, Lesa, Jackson; one son, Mason William Ridley, at home; one daughter, Amber Lynne Ridley, at home; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Ridley, Estherville; one sister, Mrs. Bruce (Ann) Butterfield, Washington, D.C.; and two brothers, Robert Ridley, Marshall, Minn., and Warrant Third Class Lynn Ridley, serving with the U.S. Army in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his father. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 18, 1981)
