W. [John Walter] Stafford, 63, Dies; Ill Two Months
Walter Stafford, 63, of Estherville died at 2 a.m. today in Park View clinic where he has been a patient since Thanksgiving day. Death was attributed to heart trouble.Mr. Stafford has been ill for more than two months and had been confined to bed most of that time. He had been a patient in the Park View clinic at various times.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mr. Stafford had been employed at the Golden Sun Milling company before becoming ill.
Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Alan Henderson, who lives on a farm south of Estherville, and Mrs. John A. Bearboom of Ghent, Minn.; three sons, Lee Stafford of Wabasso, Minn., Francis of Kirkland, Wash,, and Leonard of Bakersfield, Calif. Francis and Leonard recently visited their father. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ivan Thompson of Secor, Ill., and Mrs. Bert McRae of Laconia, Ind. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 5, 1947)
Stafford Rites Monday
Funeral services for J.W. Stafford, who died early yesterday morning at the Park View clinic, will be held Monday at 1:30 at the Sternborg funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. in the Baptist church. Burial will be made in the East Side cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 6, 1947)
