Mrs. Will Otto Dies
Mrs. Will Otto, 43, of Wallingford, died Tuesday [January 1, 1946] evening at her home from flu and pneumonia. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at her home and 2 p.m. at the Methodist church with the Rev. C.J. Semans officiating. Burial will be at the Oakhill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 3 1946)

Mrs. Will Otto
Ethel Mettie Hyer was born Nov. 30, 1902, the daughter of William and Lydia Hyer, near Maple Hill in Emmet county, later moving into the Huntington community.

She was married Dec. 3, 1919, to Will Otto and they resided in the same community until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Wallingford where she died Jan. 1 at the age of 43 years, one month and two days.

Those who survive her are her widower, a son, Henry, of the U.S. Marines, a sister, Mrs. Lee Schultz, and five brothers, Ernest, Earl, Warren, Paul and Ray Hyer, all of the Estherville community. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 10, 1946)

Mr. and Mrs. John Keno attended the funeral Saturday afternoon of Mrs. Will Otto of Wallingford. Mrs. Otto was a cousin of Mrs. Keno. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 17, 1946)
