Knute Olson [Olsen], 56, Swan Lake Farmer, Dies
Funeral Tentatively Arranged for Monday
Knute Olson, 56, Swan Lake township farmer, died this morning at 10:15 following a long illness. He had undergone treatment this winter at Rochester, Minn., but failed to improve in health.Mr. Olson was born in Emmet county and except for a few years spent in Montana and Denver was a lifelong resident of this community.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Olson of Estherville; his widow; a step-son, Alfred Hage; one sister, Mrs. Herman Sorum of Estherville; and two brothers, Tom Olson and Gustav Olson. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Olson was married May 9, 1925, to Mrs. Louise Hage at Denver, Colo.
Services have been set tentatively for Monday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church east of Wallingford with the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker of Wallingford in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Knute Olson [Olsen] passed away Friday [June 4, 1943] morning at 10:15 following a long illness. He had been in Rochester, Minn. last winter taking treatments but he failed to improve in health. He was a Swan Lake township farmer and was 56 years of age.He was born in Emmet county and was a lifelong resident with the exception of a few years in Montana and Denver. On May 9, 1925, he was married to Mrs. Louise Hage at Denver, Colo.
Surviving him besides his widow, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thorvold Olson of Estherville, a step son, Alfred Hage; a sister, Mrs. Herman Sorum of Estherville and two brothers, Tom Olson and Gustav Olson.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church east of Wallingford. The Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 10, 1943)
