Estherville – Services for Mrs. Charles (Alice) Nourse, 93, Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Haider of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Nourse died Saturday, Feb. 19, 1983 at the Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Alice Jestine Miller was born Aug. 1, 1889 to J.L. and Catherine (Waddell) Miller at Benton, Ia. She moved with her family to Superior as a young girl, later the family moved to Estherville and she has lived here since. She attended the Superior and Estherville Schools. On Aug. 5, 1908 she was united in marriage to Charles S. Nourse at Estherville.

Mrs. Nourse was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women ad Alpha Class; she was a charter member of the Service Star Legion and belonged to the Woman’s Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Obye, Estherville and Mrs. Lorence (Dorothy) Muehlethaler, Elgin, Ia.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Donald Miller, Oxnard, Calif. and one sister, Mrs. Lois Joseph, Williamsburg, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 21, 1983)
