Estherville – Services for Merl C. Moller, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born March 1, 1907 at Estherville, the son of Louis and Emma (Strube) Moller. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1925 and attended Estherville Junior College. He played football with Estherville Junior College and a Semi-Pro team, the Estherville All Stars, until 1932. On Aug. 22, 1929 he was united in marriage with Hazel K. Winter at Estherville. He served on the Estherville Police Dept. from 1932-1946; graduated from the F.B.I. Academy 1944 and operated Moller Construction Co. from 1946-1986 and was in partnership with his son for the last 25 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Hazel, Estherville; one son Malverne and his wife Caryle, Estherville; one daughter Carole Ringham and husband Michael, San Diego; five grandchildren: Michael Moller and wife Kate, Des Moines; Joan, William, John and Christopher Ringham, San Diego.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, John and one sister, Velma. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 8, 1986)
