Rites To Be Tuesday for Mrs. Knode
Mrs. Otto (Ella) Knode, 63, resident of Estherville for the past 20 years, died a 8:40 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital. Afflicted with cancer, she had been in ill health for the past year.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christian church with the Rev. Lester Strubhar officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Ella Steel, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Steel, was born Dec. 22, 1894 at Storm Lake where she also received her education. She was united in marriage Mary 5, 1912 to Otto Knode at Dolliver. Following their marriage, the couple lived at various places in Iowa moving to Estherville in 1938.

Mrs. Knode was a member of the Christian church and Rebekah lodge.

Included among survivors are four sons: John of Estherville, Harley of Iowa Falls, Leonard of Pomona, Calif., Otto Jr. of Santa Ana, Calif.; three daughters: Mrs. Lester (Mabel) Reising of Hazel Green, Wisc. (Clara Adee and Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Kleen, both of Rockford, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, two daughters, her parents and three brothers.

Friends may call at Sternborg Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Sunday until Tuesday at 10 a.m. when the body will lie in state at the Christian Church until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 12, 1958)
